Steve Jackson Games (SJG) has announced two new dice games for March. But clearly, they had Halloween in mind when they were at the design table: the two games cast the players as zombies and Cthulhu cultists.
In Zombie Dice, players are zombies, trying to eat the most brains without succumbing to the humans' shotguns. There are 13 different victims, represented by dice, to choose from. Designed as a quick and easy game, this game should only take 10-20 minutes to play, and a single round of play to explain the rules. The 13 victims even make it into the MSRP, set at $13.13.
The second game, Cthulhu Dice (notice a theme?), players are not-quite-crazed cultists of Cthulhu. The winner is the last player to stay sane, with custom 12-sided dice used to cost your opponents sanity (or even steal it for yourself). The Great Old One itself can show up, though, costing everyone sanity and possibly ending the game with no winner.
